Hi everyone I though I would do a little update on the Hedgehog.
Yesterday we did a little work on Hubby's mums fence and it looks like we may have solved the problem as we didn't see the cat come in so fingers crossed on that!
We also waited to put the Hedgehogs food out until we saw him out nosing in the garden that was about 8:30pm,we saw him/her wondering about in the bottom garden then going back to the shelter so we went down with its food then.I woke a couple of times during the night and saw no sign of the dread thief cat so all looks good.We will keep you posted as things progress.
Good job in keeping Hedgehog safe! We bet it's really cute too.
ReplyDeletewe have looked to closely as we don't want to disturb him to much
DeleteHopefully all will be back to yard normal soon Speedy!

DeleteYes, Sir Speedy of Cheekiness, please let there be no more mean kitty encounters. I think you rule over the Kingdom of Kindness. We have a temporary name for your little refugee - Lucky! On our honeymoon we went to Scotland and stayed at a wonderful bed and breakfast. I think they must all be wonderful, but we had an extra treat at ours. The couple whose home we were staying in had a garden like yours and called us to the back door one evening after they had put out food for a hedgehog who lived there. It was so wonderful, a precious memory for the newly weds. I believe they put out a bowl of milk for him is that possible? I know we got to see him in the moonlight. Your Dad is great! You all take care. Thanks for sharing all these wonderful adventures. I bet the awards keep coming.
ReplyDeleteoh no hedgehogs are allergic to lactose and shouldn't be given milk even though they like it,but I'm glad you got to see the little fella and lucky is a good name
DeleteOh cool hedgehogs are so cute! I wish we had them here! What do they eat? (you probably have already said, I'm catching up!)
ReplyDeleteI will do a post on that later today
DeleteOh wow! A hedgehog! So adorable. I hope the cat stay's away so Speedy and his new friend can have happy times together.

the cat came back last night woke me up as it knocked some bins over at 4am not amused but it must of frightened it self as it was no ware to be seen
Deletehe is absolutely adorable!!!
ReplyDeletethat is just a picture that I found I shall try to get a photo if I can
DeleteThere just was a Hedgehog Festival here - people bring their "hogs" from miles around. They carry them in little knitted bags and things. Those people are WAY nuttier than rabbit people!
ReplyDeleteAh those are African Pygmy Hedgehogs and are domesticated hybrids some even have long ears, very cute
DeleteRG, I am afraid I am offended by the notion that anyone can be nuttier than rabbit people. And just wait until the rabbits get a hold of this careless comment.
ReplyDeleteI would say that they are equally nutty as us bunny people...hehehe..Speedy's mum
DeleteFingers crossed that you've solved the problem..It's so sweet having a little hedgehog :) xx00xx
ReplyDeleteMollie and Alfie
nope the cat came back but hope fully he scared him self with the noise of crashing bins and that will keep him away!
DeleteIt's nice to have a new friend!
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Oh great news! Hopefully the hedgehog stays nice and safe :-)
ReplyDeleteOink oink,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
You should have a name draw. Everyone makes a suggestion and Speedy picks a name at random.
ReplyDeleteI like:
Needles
Spike
Eddie (Iron Maiden's Eddie)
Schmetz (sewing needle brand)
Pinner
Nopalito (paddle cactus that is edible and has sweet fruit that ripens in October is YUMMY)
Agave (cactus used to make tequila and mescal, also YUMMY)
Prickles
Just to name a few names that would fit a hedgehog!
Hoping all will be ok with Mr.Hedgehog!
