I wish I had the kind of yard that would allow my bunnies to be explorers like Speedy. Nice yards, btw.
ReplyDeletewell you could always gee up hubby into doing something with your yard to make it more bun appealing and safe for them
ReplyDeleteI live in an upstairs/downstairs duplex and we live downstairs. There is not much of a yard. The yard way in back behind the garage would be nice but the dog poos there and I dont want my bunns around dog poo grass. The yard on the side is where the dog pees and I dont want them munching on pee grass. The yard in front is at a weird three way intersection that is very busy as we sit smack at the butt-end of a neighborhood park. I don't want them in front because they would get scared. That leave a little patch of yard in front of the garage, to the side against the fence, in front of where my husband and I park. BUT...there is a HUGE pecan tree right over it and that tree is messy, dropping pecans, leaves, branches, twigs...So nothing really grows there. Besides, there are way too many stray cats and dogs and even hawks around. I will have to take pictures and show you.
ReplyDeleteThats a shame But I think that its a good in this case to keep them in,I would still try with thak bit under the tree its a project to make it nice and safe for the bunns but it would be worth it,and even though our yards have now been cat proofed we still keep an eye on Speedy just to make sure, but it is rewarding to watch him be him self
DeleteLook at Speedy go! Hurrah for exploring! Lovely, lovely garden m'dears! I, too, have a hard time with outdoor space for my buns (what with 2 dogs and all); but I do have a side yard that will work perfectly once we've finished making it safe for them.
ReplyDeletebut what fun they will have when its finished
DeleteHow do you keep him from eating everything (aka just everything bad for bunnies)
ReplyDeletewell he tends to only bit the tops off and leaves a trail of flowers and the like all over the place but he eats the grass and my herbs apart from the chives he doesn't like the smell of them, the only thing he likes to eat is my Californian poppy's but they don't seem to bad for him as all my bunns have liked them I don't worry about those
DeleteMy goodness Speedy, you've been having some great outings!

DeleteWhat fun for Speedy. I would love for my buns to be able to roam outside like that, too. I have to set up the playpens and be on guard for hawks and owls--and neighbor cats.
